THREE-PART INTENSIVE WORKSHOP for FICTION WRITERS
In this three-part workshop, Kathi Macias and Cathy Hake, both published authors, speakers and editors, offer the serious fiction writer hands-on techniques for writing a winning book or story.
- Session One: Opening hooks and characterization
- Session Two: Participants will revise their manuscripts based on class discussion and written comments from instructors
- Session Three: Critiquing of revised work; open discussion; instructors will share common mistakes fiction writers make
Requirements for this workshop:
- Register by March 1, 2008
- Laptop computer (Optional but encouraged)
- Two-page synopsis of your book
- Ten pages of your manuscript: All double spaced/Times Roman

THREE-PART INTENSIVE FOR NONFICTION WRITERS
In this three-part workshop, Kathy Ide and B.J. Taylor, both published authors, speakers and editors, offer the serious nonfiction writer hands-on techniques for writing a winning magazine article, personal essay, or non-fiction book.
- Session One: Opening hooks, meaty middles, and satisfying endings
- Session Two: Participants will revise their manuscripts based on class discussion and written comments from instructors
- Session Three: Critiquing of revised work; open discussion; instructors will share common mistakes non-fiction writers make
Requirements for this workshop:
- Register by March 1, 2008
- Laptop computer (Optional but encouraged)
- One magazine article, personal essay, or first chapter of a non-fiction book
- Length: Up to 2,500 words (ten double spaced pages/Times Roman)
- Manuscripts must be sent to BOTH instructors by March 1, 2008:
